My suggestion is to support Zope (www.zope.org) and Plone. My prospect clients want this functionality.

Regards.

zope and plone. We are looking into this actually. Looks like it's getting big and it's a market we want!

Hi. Do you have any preview of when Zope and Plone will be supported? A prospect client asked me.

Thanks!

I'm also curious if there is a target date.. I took a look at it and think it would be a perfect match for one of the projects that was presented to me..

Any sort of update would be nice. Even if its just "No target dates yet, but its still in the works" Even better though would be "Yeah were going to support it on X.X.200X"

Lets see target date...

These things must be completed before we do...
server migration
billing manager migration
jsp 5x series
dedicated server backup solution
Kernal upgrades on remaining boxes.

Zope and plone fll in towards the bottom of that list. So it's far off before we offer it but it's something we are very interested in. Mabye a few months?

Question Re: Zope and Plone

I just posted this question on a different thread but I thing this is the right one:

Does HostGator support Plone at this time? No one has posted about this since 2006!

I've been using Drupal but Plone seems to have its unique characteristics and it was also one of the finalists on the 2008 CMS awards

I see a few problems with installing Zope/Plone on the shared servers. First:

Quote:
Now startup your zope server
You're not allowed to run any background processes on hostgator shared servers.

Second:
Quote:
cp -R Plone-2.5/* /opt/zope/2.9.3/Products
You won't be able to move anything into that directory.

You could likely get this setup on a dedicated server though.
