hello,
I have just started my website, ZapX technologies! I don't want to take service away from HostGator, so I won't talk about my hosting plans, but the hosting section of ZapX Technologies is here http://hosting.zapx.net However, we provide other services as well. We have a designs department, as well as a freelance software development section. Further, we have downloads, topsites, and finally, forums, which already have over 600 posts after just under a week of being online. You may see our site here: http://www.zapx.net if nothing else, please register on our forums! Brandon |

on the first page of your hosting section you still have the link of your logo pointing to that second_level.htm page. It's OK on the other pages. Good luck, Stef. |

Hi Brandon,
Just thought I would also mention that on my system the main page of your hosting section shows the plans like this: 125mb space 1,250mb bandwidth 25 Domains! I'm guessing you meant for it to be something like this instead: 125mb space 1,250mb bandwidth 25 Domains! If it's a real estate issue with "bandwidth" you might just try "b/w" and all will probably line up. Oh, I'm using Firefox so not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Hope this helps. Thank you. There is no formatting in that line, so you are probably right; it's probably too long to fit. I will fix it soon.

Just an update.
i changed "bandwidth" to BW on tha tmain hosting page. How is it now? I updated some things, and finally got our support center working, though I'm still working on the knowledgebase. Also changed some of our packages.

For me, Properties was a bit misleading.. I see that and I think of something other than what you have on the page..
I really like how you incorporated the blog into your index page.. Was that hard to do and which one do you use??? |

What were you expecting to see on properties?
No it wasn't hard at all. We use cutenews. It just takes two lines, I believe. |

100mb space 1,000mb bw 10 Domains! Looks better than the first time, but Domains is on a line by itself for all plans. You might want to put a "/" in between the bw if it will fit. David |

Would it work if I put a <br> after each line?

If anyone wants a nice forum to post in, I'd really appreciate it if any of you joined our forums. We don't only have forums about our services, but also general discussion forums, scripting forums, site development forums, and some others. We're looking for more members. I believe it will attract more people to see an active forum. We almost have 1,000 posts already, within a week! The URL is http://forums.zapx.net |

Do you mean high? I don't think so; most are about average. 100 mb of space, with 1,000 mb of bandwidth for $4.99 is not bad at all. Tell me why you think so?
I am not foolish in thinking I can give the world for a few dollars and still survive. I also don't want spammers to sign up, which they do if the prices are too low. |

*high
Many offer 1000 MB for $6.99 with the software you offer, ExcellHosting.net for example. |

I'd like to see their services, too. In addition, there are different markets out there, and the differen tprices attract different kinds of people.
For instance, a business would never, ever go with a host with very cheap prices. A spammer would, though. Check out webhostingtalk.com sometime. ![]() That host probably also severely oversells, and would probably suspend your account if you tried to use all of your resources. I know of many hosts with better prices than I, but that's alright. I refuse to compete on prices. We compete on quality of service. I also know several hosts with prices much, much higher than my own. |

Pot calling the kettle black...
With all your experience u didn't seem to forsee the need for some kind of webmail account to keep in touch with people? Say for instance the sales department about yr refund... conducting yr business on a semi-private forum not quite what I'd expect from someone with experience and know-how. The prices he sets are up to him, he knows what kind of customer he is going for, I for instance have 2 websites one selling budget hosting another selling a more premium service (in terms of pricing) all on the same reseller account with more or less the same features and I get different types of customers on each. Just my 2cents... António. |

Hello,
I'd appreciate if you refrained from insulting us; there are really much more mature ways of going about this. Firstly, you have to decide what your target market is. I don't know anyone who has a steady cash flow coming in who cannot afford $4.99 per month for quality web hosting. Sure, I am on a reseller right now, but how about when we move to a dedicated server? We will be purchasing a high-end one. There are several expenses besides that, plus staff. Do you expect me to pay for these expenses with very cheap packages? It is impossible, unless again you severely oversell. If you do that, though, you will have servers running at the pase of snails. Believe me, I have spoken to many on the issue, and have more experience than you might think. It doesn't say much that you resorted to insulting me. I have no desire in continuing the conversation. That person has posted elsewhere that he has already left for another hosting company. I am assuming his account is still paid through a certain date else his longin would in my view been deleted by now. Sounds like someone with nothing better to do than try to cause a rise in someone at a host he does not care to support any longer

Hello,
You might've not gotten such a negative response if you had been a bit less insulting. Have you not seen the many, many threads on WHT about pricing? Sure, there are those who give 2gb for $3, but how many of those really survive, and become large companies? Unless they are already large companies, and then they can afford to do so. Even then, their support probably isn't the best. Which company will want to give quality support to clients paying them $3 a month? What is funny is that those clients paying these low prices and getting a lot of resources seem to need support a lot more often than those who are willing to pay higher prices for a quality service. if you just plan on being a reseller, not having your business grow very much, these very low prices might just be fine and reasonable. That's your choice. But how about those who want a bit more? Tell me who is going to build an office for their business, hire staff, get dedicated servers (not the $100 kind), pay the bills, pay their staff, pay for billing software, pay for an 800 number, pay for their office supplies, and whatever else they might need, with $3 clients? That is laughable! if you outlined a business plan such as this, and showed that to any businessperson, i believe they would laugh in your face. It's absolutely and utterly impossible. I'm not even as expensive as some o ther hosts. I've studied my target market, calculated possible finances, and the profit margin i would like to have for myself, and accordingly made packages. if you think they are wrong, if you think they are too high, well you go write your own business plan, make your own packages, start your own host, and let's see who is the more successful. Anyway, for everyone else, some more updates: I'm planning on redesigning, because I'm not too fond of my current design. hopefully that'll be up in a few weeks. We also just got VBulletin last night, and transfered all our posts and members to that new forum. ![]() Brandon |

Brandon,
I took another look at your site. The VB looks good seems to be working well. Now you just need to brand it I also can confirm that the funny line issue that I mentioned before is gone and the main page with the plans listed look fine now. Only thing I saw that I would mention is that you might want to change the hover color for your hyperlinks on the contact us page. They disappear completely when you hover over them. I know the hosting site is a HG provided template, but I think it works fine especially until you get to a certain size, of course maybe you're already there.David |

Hi David,
Thank you for the suggestions. Like i said i am going to be redesigning; actually a designer is working on a new design for me now. I will just wait until that is complete. Then i will ask for more suggestions. How can i brand the forums? We are making a custom skin for it, so I am sure that will help. Hopefully that will be up in a week or two. Thanks for the comments again Brandon |

That's mainly what I meant, either via a skin with your company name/logo or similar. Good luck with your new design. I'll give it a look when it goes live.
