Are You Happy With Hostgator?

I would like to here other peoples experiences good or bad.

Hostgator is hosting well over 5,000,000 domains. If it were a lousy web host, do you really think it would still have that many customers?

I think Hostgator support is very good. I used their service. and now I continue to use their service.

I really like HostGator. I have had the Baby plan for 11 months and just upgraded to the Hatchling plan. My company has also had a separate account with them for over 10 years through a reseller account.

Their costumer service via the ticket system is very responsive. I like the ticket system for resolving problems or asking questions. It requires some patience though, sometimes it is hard to exchange information on complicated issues and calling in may be needed for these.

I have not had any issues with the servers over the past year. One down time, that I know of, due to emergency maintenance on the server. They also seem to have the best pricing on the market.

I like it but sometimes they are to protective and close down your service for reasons they should warned you for.

If you were stuck on the same shared server as someone whose lousy scripts or unindexed databases were killing performance, you wouldn't want to wait for the offender to be "warned."

And if you are doing something illegal on your site (like copyright violation), HG doesn't have the option of warning you, then waiting for you to clean up your act. They are legally required to shut you down as soon as they become aware of the problem.

I've been with Hostgator for a couple of years and have been mostly satisfied until recently due to a number of issues.

Been with Hostgator since 2009 and have had very minimal issues with them (which have been corrected within a day).

So overall, I've been very content with using Hostgator for my sites.

i have been with hostgator for more than 2 years now. i have 2 website here with HG.

I am. Got a dedicated in Dec 2010. I'm no server expert so anything in the logs or updates that go awry, I send a ticket to have somebody more knowledgeable than myself inspect. Most times, I get a fairly quick response/resolution. So far, they do exactly as I'd expect.
Occasionally I receive a doofy ticket response from a HG tech, but it happens with the best of companies, too. As long as those are kept to a minimum; 0 complaints.

I don't really think anyone would have experienced something bad using HostGator. It is growing every single day and every review I found online says all exactly the same thing. A 5 star to feedback for their awesome hosting services.

yes absolutely, I have been with Hostgator for a number of years and they have been very good indeed. Their technical support is very good.

Extremely happy with Hostgator. Although I know I can be pretty hard on them in the ticket system sometimes when either I am (most of the time) or their responses are a bit "doofy", but I would never trust another host out there to support me or manage my hosting needs. Started with a business account a couple years back and now run a dedicated. Never would have happen without the expertise and support of Hostgator.

I was very happy for the past few years but after this weekend with HG support, i'm unhappy and thinking about leaving.

I have one issue that i'm working my tail off to try to find the cause of it, but HG support is not helping that much which is making me think of moving to a new webhost since my site is not big enough to move to a VPS or a server.

Weekness is MYSQL for sure.

Before this weekend, HG provided outstanding service.

I host all my sites with hostgator. I have had both VPS, webhosting, and Dedicated. My experience has been a good one thus far. I have been a customer for over a year. Best thing is that when ever you need support someone is always there to help. If anything happen they work hard to get it fixed right away.
