This might be the biggest question ask at this "pre-sales" forum.
I signup hostgator at March 2007 with hatchling plan. Later i upgrade to baby plan with unlimited domain hosted. And yesterday I moved 6 of my domain to HG. I have to moved it here. Previously those 6 websites are hosted with other 2 host, seperate host (not to mention here). and lately i facing downtime with them, and slow access at most my site. From visitor log, the visitor drops to below 50%, that mean i lost more than half of the visitors. this is nightmare.Since, my 2 month with HG here is happy, and the site is running in good condition, fast server, good network. I wont think twice to move my site here. yesterday is bit rush to upload allmy files to hostgator, the process is smooth, no FTP problem. I had a good sleep yesterday night The $9.95 which i subscribe 12 month and paid front end. Is really worth it. I will continue to support HG. Keep it running guys.

I agree, this is similar process for me. I moves a few sites over and checked out all the Cpanel etc. Spent time testing upload speeds, server speeds, connectivity. All was really good. So, little by little I kept migrating all my sites over and killing off other hosting services, leaving a backward path for a month or so. But after 18 months I have all the sites on host gator and I spread across now 5 different servers. I have been managing many sites for about ten years and have used several of the best and well known hosts. So, I say with allot of background on having sites on many good hosts that this is the best price/performance service on the internet. I too am really happy with HG.

I have been VERY happy with HG. I know that every company has their quirks and you can not please everyone. However, I have had nothing but great experiences so far with HG. Keep it up guys!
Thanks! |

You guys should all post these in the customer reviews forum, to balance out some of the negative ones.

![]() I don't think 2 negative icons out of 25 on the front page is bad going at all. One is mine, which has since been updated to correctly reflect.

Are you sure? You can't reply to topics other people made, but you should be able to start a new one.

I was able to post a positive review in the customer review section. And was very happy to do so!

However, it seems that those who post negative reviews can't follow the rules or read the instructions, so their posts never last too long. |

I think the cheap hosts like Hostgator attract a lot of total noobs that start complaining as soon as they run into problems and then blame it all on the host. I canīt reply in the review forum either but I havenīt tried to post there yet.

charlesgan, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Nobody but the poster and the Gators can reply in there. If you look in the Off-Topic forum, you'll see why...

We can post there, we just can't reply to other topics there. It makes sense...if you have a good experience, you can write about it, but the bad experiences don't turn into the kinds of threads we put in "offtopic"

And if you include the ticket number they give you some lame ass reason like .. this is really a support issue and we are moving your post to that forum. What they really mean is ... this is going to be to difficult to make it look like your fault so we are going to move it someplace that prospective customers can't read it. A critique of your support is most definately a critique of your hosting company. In my opinion it is the single most important difference between hosting companies. Especially when a company doesn't even run their own server farm. And of course anyone who has ever had a support issue knows that Hostgator's support is not very good.

In order for a negative review to be kept, it must have the following (as far as I can tell) 1. It must be a review of hosting a Hostgator. It can contain negative and positive items. 2. If it is a complaint about a single issue, it must have a ticket number and the issue MUST be something that was actually Hostgator's fault. However, single issue complaints rarely are kept, so better to stick with negative review instead of negative comment about a single issue. 3. If a valid review contains a specific negative issue, it must have a ticket number(s). 4. Negative reviews must be well written. "Hostgator sucks" is not a well written review. 5. It must not contain lies or false information, such has "Hostgator just purchased a whole ton of low end servers, which they plan to use for reseller hosting". Half true, so it will be moved. |

As for performance, HG is the best one I've had. My main website and over 100 demo sites are run from my Swamp plane. $14.95...that's peanuts.
