Question Which plan for testing zen cart?

Hello,
I want to create a test site so I can muck around
with some shopping cart software - I wanted to
start by trying out Zen Cart. Looks like I will need php,
MySQL, and Apache. Bandwidth and space requirements
are minimal, so I'm looking at the Baby plan.

I am concerned that I may need SSH access to be able to
modify the permissions on the files, as I have seen in some
of the instructions for using Zen Cart.

Is there a way to modify file/dir permissions through cPanel,
or do I need a shell?

Are ther any other issues that would warrant an upgrade from
the Baby plan?

Thanks,
Bill

You don't get shell access, but you can change file & directory permissions by using a FTP client, or you can use the file manager in cPanel.

Shell access makes changing permissions a little easier. It makes opening Tar balls a little easier. It is not require to install Zen Cart, as quietFinn said.

Shell is available on the dedicated accounts, should you need real power.

You might also test x-cart, I found it much better than zen or osc.
