Default Which plan for my large forum ?

Hello,

I'm thinking about purchasing a VPS plan at HostGator but I'm unsure about which level to go for ...
I run a VB forum with receiving around 180,000 unique visitors monthly for around 800,000 visits. At any time of the day, there is approx. between 20 and 50 visitors logged and active on the forums.
My VB board is not heavily moded and I intend to use CPanel because I don't know much about Linux servers (ancillary question: I am a PHP/MySql programmer but I am not familiar with Linux servers; will CPanel be enough for me to operate the management of a VPS server ?).

Thanks for your help !
J.

To be quite honest a shared plan would work. But you will have plenty of room to grow, and great speeds and no worries about using too much resources if you go with a VPS. I'd say at LEAST Level 2 VPS.

Good luck

You should be ok on a shared environment. But you could outgrow shared quickly if your traffic starts picking up.
