Default Which level VPS?

I have a client who needs to move to a VPS because of the 64Mb upload limit on shared hosting. He is a high end printer whose clients regularly send him files over the 64Mb limit.

I'm competent and can figure things out but have no server management experience, and am wondering my self if I'll be slowed down or even be dangerous by not having the access to cpanel which appears to be only level three and up.

Could any of you experienced VPS users give me some guidance on either of those issues so we can make the right choice

thanks

if you want a managed VPS (believe me, if you don't know if you do or don't - you DO!) , you should minimum have level 3 with cpanel. With the HostGator suppport 24/7/365 on your managed vps you will NOT regret giving the extra money for this service. Take it from someone who himself went from reseller hosting to VPS and never looked back :-)

with the service from hostgator - if you're in doubt about something or need help doing something, you just contact them. If it's not third party software installation, it's free. I have had some issues with the default configuration, which they helped me with - and later on various issues, that they help me with - fast, reliable and ....free of charge, because it's included with the managed vps solutions.

What is nice about VPS is you can easily request an upgrade, so in my opinion there is nothing wrong with starting near the lowest level and seeing how that does.
