Whats the exact procedure for moving to semi-dedicated ?

Whats the exact procedure for moving and HG site to semi-dedicated ?

1. Do I sign up to semi-dedicated and send support a request to move my site to semi-dedicated ? Or do I contact support first i.e. a ticket and tell them I want to move to semi and then sign up ?

2. If left to Hostgator, How long does it take to move ? Is it a copy or a move ? I.e. if its a MOVE then the site would go down until the nameservers set to pointed to the new site.

3. Whats the procedure for getting a refund of balance of your shared account ? Since Ive had it just over a month.

Anything else I need to know / Do ?

1. Sign up, request the move.

2. A few days, make the move, then change the nameserver.

3. No refunds, do it near the end of your month.

Hmmm... I've never done an upgrade with a non-month-to-month account, that one you will need to direct to sales. I'm sure they will be able to answer that. Let me know what they say.

When I upgraded to the SemiDedicated I had a number of months left on a year paid of the lowest shared plan. I had to contact sales a couple of times but it did get credited towards one of my invoices.
