I'm about to start a web design business. I already created a website for a friend and I want to know what's the easiest way to transfer the Hostgator hosting to him.

Would it be easier to have the new client buy the domain and hosting? or,
Should I purchased both services and then transfer them.

What's the easiest way to transfer the hosting to the new client?

I already transferred the Godaddy domain.

If your friend wants to purchase directly from HG, get your friend to sign up for an account. Then with your friends permission, you can upload (ftp) the files to the account.

If you want to purchase a reseller account, do so, then you can sell or give your friend an account, and assist with setting up.

You cannot resell on shared accounts, only reseller accounts and above.
