Default Whats the deal? Site is down for me too.

Reading this forum it lookes like im not the only one experiencing problems. It would be nice to hear from the staff that usually posts here, since it looks like creating tickets its a waste of time. Whats going on, and how long before its fixed. Thanks.

You should submit a ticket or contact Live Chat to determine what might be happening. The staff does not monitor the forums as frequently and if the site is down it is much better to contact Live Chat so someone can look now. By the time the staff sees this post the site may well be back up.

If you provide a URL for a site that is down users here can check and see if it is down for us as well. There could be a problem with routing causing the problem.

Uh huh. Heard that one before. Got the t-shirt even.

My thoughts are that THE SITE SHOULD NEVER BE DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Posting many times on the board about your issue isn't going to help you. Unfortunately, some downtime is just a fact of life for shared and dedicated servers. It has nothing to do with overselling, as you've said in your other posts-- all the hostgator servers are given about the same # of clients/resources used and so would all be affected by the issue. It's definitely an issue to your particular server, and I'm inclined to believe the DDoS explanation support has given you.

You should keep good logs in your tickets of exactly when the downtimes are happening, and if the attacks keep coming, ask HG to move you to a new server.

I find when I submit tickets I get an answer really quickly, and they're always really helpful. I've been a customer for a couple of years at least, service has always been great, far better than any other host i've used.

I must agree with this. My site was beeing attacked with DDOS and the ticket/mail support was way faster and more helpful then posting on forums.

We all have computer / hosting troubles from time to time. That's the nature of the beast (no pun intended).

Would be even nicer if we left the gator staff alone to do their support without us nagging them. Can you image what it's like to have to support 1,000,000 domains. Personally I think they do a great job and deserve our congrats for putting up with so much that goes on here on the forum.

Very endearing language. Your peers have no idea what your problem is or what your domain is, so we say, "What's the problem, what's your domain, and we can't help you fix it unless you give us some information."
