Sluggish ssh/shell access, too many restrictions, no true Rails support, so
I have moved on to DreamHost and I am glad. Everything/everyone is way more resposive than HostGator. Plus, don't believe what they say: Money Back We guarantee that if for any reason during your first month with us you decide to cancel we will issue a full refund within 24 hours. I was charged $185.00 for 3 days of lousy service ... with no refund ... yet ... 26 hours and counting. Way lame!!!!! |

User was banned, signed up just to complain and make false and quite ridiculous accussations.
![]() Also he was refunded, but he has a problem with waiting up to 7 days for his bank to show the credit to his account. He claims that it should be as quick as it took us to charge him.

To be honest, it should be the same amount of time that it took the charge to show up on his account.
Weird... any way you could tell us the question we all want to know... what costs $185? |

Processing refunds ALWAYS takes credit card clearing places/services longer than charges...entropy is one of the few physical laws that applies to economics.

Ok for all you crazy dollar detectives.
The original price was 194.00, 179 for a year on swamp. 15 dollars for a baby plan. 9.94 off with a coupon! Coming to 184.46.

I bet he knew there was a chance of being suspended and assumed paying for a year ahead of time was a preventive measure.

It never ceases to amaze me when the 'banned after one post club' ushers in a new member. Having a beef is one thing, but handling it in such a way as to achieve this dubious distinction is quite another.

Almost every "new user/ex-user" doesn't post until after being suspended, either to spew some vitriol in a review or to ask disingenously what the problem could possibly have been.

I wonder if it would be possible to devise a lucrative hosting business for the newly suspended--like those private schools that charge a triple fortune after your kid has been booted everywhere else (costing just a single fortune).

1&1 has already cornered that market.
