i want Advice b4 hosting

i'm looking for a good hosting to host my site and mirroring a linux .iso for a project I'm part of, like this project http://www.linux-egypt.org ,with some tutorials

and my personal videos from my camera

so after looking on google and some advices about the best web hosting

i found that hostgator is the best by the experts

i want to have the ( Baby ) plane http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml

but before this, i want some advice from you

the best plane and offers or coupon for a yearly hosting

I think the coupons "404code" and "jury" still give the first month for $0.01.

However if you are mirroring the Linux .iso's then I think you will need a dedicated server, but ask live chat first.

but about linux i only will store our project and it's not really public

How big are the iso's?

I would just try ticketing support or asking live chat, that way you get an answer for HG themselves.

i have a ticket for support but i like asking the users not the dealers so i write that thread
my iso's is about 5 giga's ( 10 iso's )

and 2.4 gigas of tutorials

Well i hope you don't expect people to download them.
There is a horrible connection speed with downloading ANY file from a shared server (600 account on each ).

I've downloaded from my own comnnection just fine. 752kbytes/sec I got so I doubt there would be a problem.

Where did you get the 600 and 20 numbers from? I don't think they are accurate.

The vast majority of HG servers have very fast transfer speeds. A bottleneck is far more likely to happen on a person's own internet connection.

the main difference in the plans will be storage space, bandwidth, etc. but in terms of your hosting experience, which plan won't make much difference on a shared hosting environment. the move from shared to reseller will put you on different servers.

so in answer to your question, it's up to you.

his iso setup doesn't really sound like an issue to me, as it's not a public download repositiory kind of thing. it's a specific iso for a specific project he's a part of, not like sourceforge or something. but any time you need an official response about something like that, it does need to come from hg and not the forums. this is a peer support forum and we can't give you official responses.
