Since the OP is asking about shared accounts, it's irrelevant--shared accounts have unlimited space and bandwidth.

Was there honestly any need for that?

How is unlimited bandwidth/disk space a fact? Come on we are not all that stupid. No it's not irrelevant for shared hosting. If this person has a blog using up a lot of disk space/bandwidth your only going to either terminate his account/ask him to upgrade to VPS/Dedicated at some point.

As per the shared hosting info page, you can see there are no limits on disk space usage, or bandwidth. However the TOS explains about INODES and CPU usage. Check out section 7, 7b and 7c.

Secondly why are you argumentative? Thirdly, if you know everything, then why are we having this conversation? If you want to give people help, be accurate in what you say, and be able to back it up with proof not supposition.

By diverting the thread to space and bandwidth, you not only haven't answered the OP's question, you may have confused him or her and other readers. PS: I see David was slightly quicker than I was; his answer went up while I was finishing mine.

I'm not at all. I just do not appreciate someone saying my question was irrelevant "I have a wordpress blog website where it wud have tutorials for all the computer related stuff, example, php, java, dot etc and many more." "This website is currently in its initial days face(1700 posts) but soon it wud turn huge." As the OP clearly stated his website may not be suitable for a shared environment. The question how much disk space/bandwidth are you using is relevant because it gives an indication as to the possible CPU usage this account will use. Now I didn't say how much CPU resources does your account use because I'm sure not many people including myself do not know how much CPU our website consumes. PS I certainly don't know everything. What I do know is that it's wrong to mislead people to thinking disk space/bandwidth is 'unlimited'. Quote:

So your telling me if the OP said my blog uses 250GB bandwidth that would be suitable for a shared account? I don't think so. I'm feed up of carrying this conversation on. I see no reason why asking for disk space/bandwidth was a bad thing to do. It was actually a very relevant question. Personally I hope the FTC ban the adverting of 'unlimited' anything in web hosting. It's wrong in every way. Bye.

I'm actually asking you to delete my posts and or forum account. Arguing is a waist of time for all of us. I can't even tell you how many people I have referred to HostGator. I am 99.8% happy with your service but today have come across bad support and account problems. However these have since been resolved.

I agree, alot of people on this forum THINK they know everything. If you have questions I suggest going to the Host Gator Chat to get most quick answers. You can always call Host Gator support and they will be most happy to answer any questions you may have. They do it WITHOUT any attitude.. I find this forum very amusing to read...

OK, I'm blowing the ref's whistle.
1) There are probably 20 threads in this category in which the 'space/bandwidth "unlimited"--other limits' discussion has taken place. 2) conceptskateboarding, you're being way too touchy if you perceive "irrelevant" in this context as an insult, and justifying your responses, which in the milieu of HG shared hosting accounts and what they can handle, were at best confusing. While it's a valid point that "unlimited" space and bandwidth might be misleading, that's only because the other limits render it irrelevant. Without knowing more about plugins, mods, themes, scripts, etc., that the OP is running, bandwidth usage tells you...bandwidth usage. 3) rangermoore, good suggestion about asking support. As for the rest of your post, it's too bad you feel that way. Over the past several years the community has tried to stay within the general guideline that opinions aren't wrong, but facts and techniques may be. Forum members are discouraged from presenting one as the other, which generally keeps fact-related queries more friendly.
