VSP Experience

I had some problem with my shared account to VSP transfer. First off let me say that my support tickets were handled promptly and professionally and almost all of my issues are worked out.

Having said that I do feel that the initial transfer from my shared account to my VSP account could have been much smoother. When I put in the transfer request I asked for the VSP account to be setup exactly the way it was on my shared account so that the transition would be smooth. Well all of the files were transferred over but the installed options on PHP, Apache and probably some other apps were not the same which caused some of my sites not to work and my SSL certificate was not installed (I easily took care of it but would have been better had it been done during the transfer). Also I had somehow setup my shared account so that the main domain's doc root was not public_html but in a subdirectory under public_html. That setting was not brought over and online chat said it was not possible to do. So I had to figure out how to get that set correctly.

Again I would like to say that HostGator finally got everything right (except for installing ImageMagick) but just want to let everyone know that it might not be as smooth a transition as it should be.
