VPS - is this what I need?

Hi there. I have a reseller account but want to create a multisite using WordPress and from what I have read so far, for example I need a wildcard DNS set up, then my reseller account doesn't cut the mustard. So shall I buy a VPS account in addition to my reseller? Can I use the VPS for other WP multisite installs or is it suitable for only one at a time. I'm kind of thinking that I'm not going to earn too much off it so am weighing up the costs.

Thanks for that link. Why does WP recommend VPS or dedicated hosting for the multisites then?

Dedicated resources are better than shared. I would upgrade to a VPS, as you get root access, WHM access, create other resellers, and the performance is just unbelievable. (I upgraded from a reseller to level 7 VPS for some Joomla sites)

I really love how Wildcard DNS works. Your visitors will surely find their way to your website in case they misspelled your domain name. That is its main use actually. But anyway, does it have an auto-suggestion words if you will add subdomain names?

I didn't understand your question well. If you are asking about having a wild card sub domain and real sub domains, I think both should work fine. If the sub domain requested exists, it should work, otherwise catch - all should take effect.
