Hello,
I am looking to purchase a server and am trying to keep initial costs to a minimum. I will be running an ecommerce site that consumes quite a bit of resources as the user base expands. Disk space and total bandwidth are not as important as cpu and ram. How does a level 5 compare to the Dedicated server? Is the dedicated twice as powerful, three time? Is it worth the extra mony? If I do go with a VPS how hard is the upgrade to a dedicated server? Thanks, Jeremy |

Hi,
I would say VPS Lv 5 is a good choice as you will be able to upgrade from Lv 6 to Lv 9 if needed and it is quite some powerful spec when you get over level 5. This get you peace of mind as you do not need to migrate to a new server if the basic server would be to it's knees by taking too much ressources on it. VPS are managed by HostGator (hardware) so also a good choice. They keep the server which host the VPS containers up to date. I do not say that server are not managed but they surely keep an eye on them closely to hardware and container updates. |
