About 2 months ago I signed up to a VPS level 3 solution at HostGator after I outgrew my shared hosting at another provider for my website www.wgt.agls.org.uk and I also created a new domain, www.wgtls.co.uk
Once it had been setup I noticed access to my website was slow. Uploading files was also the same and to top it all off the site was experiencing "500 - Internal Errors" and "Query failed - mysql has gone away". These have occured with a whole 6 users on the forum as I experienced this morning. None of this I experienced on my previous shared hosting elsewhere. I spoke to Live Chat and got the killer response, "It must be your ISP and I can find nothing wrong with mysql". Well that was enough and I duly cancelled under the 45-day money back guarantee. A few weeks later I was convinced by one of my moderators who also hosts websites here to give it another go. After careful consideration I chose to do just that and again signed up to the VPS level 3 solution at HostGator. That was a decision I very much regret. Nothing has changed and what's more it seems to actually be slower and the errors more frequent of which my moderator agrees. It seems to me your VPS level 3 solution is worse than shared hosting and costs 3 times as much !!! Unless something can be done I am again looking to move my website elsewhere to never return to HostGator or recommend them. Last edited by mwh65; 04-07-2010 at 03:39 AM. |

I checked on your VPS container and everything looks to be running fine and the load on your VPS container is really low. Everything was loading quickly and without issue.
Do you have the chat ID from the chat you referred to earlier or any ticket ID numbers that we can reference to look into this further? |

I took a closer look at your server with an admin and did come across some errors messages. It looks like you're hitting the memory limit on your VPS. We can work with you to get this resolved but you'll need to open a support ticket.
Our reviews forum is not the place to come when you have a complaint about a single issue. We recommend if you're having a problem you should either open a support ticket by emailing support@hostgator.com or come into chat and have them open a ticket for you. If you would PM me or reply to this post with your ticket ID I'll see to it everything gets taken care of for you and we get rid of those nasty error messages.
