I enabled calls from Canada... redirected toll-free
# to my home phone(I'm in Canada)... called from
my cellphone and had a few words to myself... ; P

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of confusion there. In the signup process, it explains that everyone is on a random package right now so we could make sure the billing system was calculating and billing properly. After the free beta, everyone will be switched to the plan with the pricing outlined in this thread.

As stated numerous times in this thread, they place different charge combinations to test the system. The real prices are in the first post and you will not be charged for this month, they'll reset the pricing back to zero then if you want to continue with your test numbers, you can start by paying.

This thread is starting to get pretty long though, so I could see where there would be some confusion. We're going to take some of the info from this thread and all the questions/answers in it and organize those in a better format today so it's easier for everyone to keep track of things.

Yeah, it is getting long, but if you truly want all the info, you need to put in the time and read the THREAD, not just one or two posts.

To keep info concise, it'd be best to have the info on the voipo.com site, in my opinion, but I understand if you don't want to do that as you are still in BETA.

Everyone should now be on the real package and pricing reflected in vPanel should be accurate no in terms of what you will be charged if you decide to maintain your VOIPo Express account.

You should all also see a credit to bring BETA accounts to $0 in the Transactions area under the Billing tab. We will do this again at the end of the month.

If anyone notices any discrepancies, please let us know.

On the pricing, are there any taxes or other charges that will also be due? I assume for this BETA, since everything now is for incoming service, those taxes and other charges do not apply - you would still have to maintain your own local number to receive the calls. Now when the local service is offered, does that picture change? I am asking specifically about federal, state, local, county and franchise taxes, and then the Interstate access surcharge, Universal Service Fund, and Telecomunications relay surcharge.

Unfortunately, some of it is unavoidable and while VoIP is very lightly taxed now compared to traditional service/cell service, there are a few things. Full residential/business accounts are subject to a USF and E911 fee.

We're looking to release the pricing for those accounts this week and will outline all the associated fees.

The new fax thingy es broken. I tried the to send a fac to myself and another number. The excel file took forever to upload and then it said sent successfully. Never received either. I dont think your fax servers like me.

No systemwide issues with it. PM the numbers you're sending to/from and we can lookup to see what would be causing it not to accept the file or whatever.

Just wanted to give you a thumbs up so far. I have not had a problem with e beta test yet. I am for sure on board with this when It launches. Just want to see what the fees will be for reseller account. Also thanks for loading a Cincinnati number

1- The Toll-Free Fax Numbers and Virtual Local Fax Numbers has the same prices and minutes, i think you should offer more minutes on the local faxes as locals #'s are cheapers.

2- Are we going to have an unlimited minutes local virtual # package for those willing to pay more to have unlimited minutes.

3- If you can have the call history real time it will be an big advantage.

1) The listed pricing is for the local fax numbers. We haven't set the toll-free pricing because as part of an upcoming launch special, we're going to give people the option to get a toll-free number instead of local for no additional charge.

2) This is something we can look at. This service is mainly designed for people who want a number in another city to have a presence there or if they have a family member there who only can make local calls, etc, so it's not designed for heavy use. We have another line of services under the VOIPo Carrier brand that are essentially the "advanced" versions of what you see here. We'll make those available in the next month or so and that option will be there. One tip though...if you forward your calls to a SIP address, unlimited is already there. SIP pricing hasn't been posted, but it's unlimited for the local numbers (no additional charge).

3) This is something we'd like to see as well. We've been working on tweaking some things to try to speed it up, but basically the sheer amount of volume we have to be able to handle in keeping a record of every call and billing the call correctly makes it a little tough to keep loads under control unless we queue the data up and then have processing servers pull data, analyze it and write the results somewhere. We're working on speeding things up and hopefully will be closer to real-time soon.

Glad to hear it. We definitely want to get things rolled out quickly as well so we can launch the reseller program.

The reseller program basically is going to involve a $25/monthly reseller account which gives you access to the entire system, our infrastructure and all the software. Then each account can be ordered at a wholesale cost. Everything is hosted on our end and is completely anonymous/transparent. We just want to make sure that if there are any issues at launch that we work them out with our name on the line vs having you guys potentially have problems for your customers. It also gives us some breathing room in terms of training our staff and building it up to make sure we can keep up with the rapid growth. We anticipate doing millions in sales our first few months and when we're dealing with our sales, we can control growth and slow things if needed, but we can't really tell you guys to slow things down So we just need to pace the launch and be 100% sure we're ready when the reseller program hits the market.

We'll announce more regarding the reseller program when we're closer to it.

In terms of real-time call activity, I didn't say t's not possible. I just said it's not efficient on a mass scale the way our system is designed.
