Got PM, have someone checking on it for you.

Looks like there was an error when your account was manually created instead of letting the system create it. It is being re-setup and we'll PM you about it. Once it's up, just re-add your fax number and it should be good to go.

Just a quick response. I set up a New York City number to ring my office phone in Scottsdale, Arizona. The configuration process took maybe a minute and was reasonably intuitive.

The number was apparently active just a moment later, by the way.

Remember, this is VOIPo to Vonage -- VOIP to VOIP. I had someone call me on the NYC number from Virginia using a Skype Out number and the connection was surprisingly good, with clean sound, and only a trace of background noise.

An encouraging beginning on the first day. More testing to come.

I was wondering will the Fax service be available to non US customers right from the beginning?
As I live in Australia and it seem to be a really good deal for only $2/month pr/yr.

We’re now opening this up to Private BETA. You can setup accounts immediately.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

BETA Status

Remember, this is a Public BETA launch of these services. There will be issues that come up and with your help we can find them and resolve them quickly. You may run into some minor service issues.

We’re pretty confident that there will be no major issues, but some javascript errors, ordering glitches, etc are highly likely. Service will not be perfect yet.
We may limit the BETA later depending on how full it gets, but will try to get everyone interested in.

Support

Support is limited during the BETA and response times may be slow because we are not fully staffed and need more time to troubleshoot issues in a BETA environment.

Documentation is not fully complete during the BETA. Your questions and feedback will really help us to finish it because we can see what you’re asking about and add make sure we have the common questions covered. Please don’t hesitate to ask us questions.

If you have an issue, please e-mail support@voipo.com to report it. As I’ve said, responses will be slow during the BETA so keep that in mind.

We also encourage everyone to register on the VOIPo Forums at forums.voipo.com so that you can interact with our Alpha Group who have been helping us test the service for the last year as we built it.

Most importantly, please do NOT contact HostGator with VOIPo issues. HostGator and VOIPo are seperate companies and employees of each company do not have any info about or access to the other company's services.

Billing

We appreciate your help with finding issues quickly and your patience over the last 18 months. We are going to give you your first month of service free. No billing information is required.

We have intentionally generated random pricing and plans for the BETA accounts so we can run a lot of inconsistent data through our billing system and be certain it is calculating, prorating and processing billing smoothly. So don’t be alarmed when you see charges and a balance being generated in your vPanel. All accounts will be brought to $0 at the end of the month.

After trying the service, if you wish to keep it, you just need to provide billing information before the end of the month. You’ll be billed from that point on.

In order to prevent abuse, all BETA accounts have an internal credit limit of $250. There have been a few cases where some of you ordered yearly plans, etc not realizing this. If you exceed the credit limit because of something like that, please contact us and we can get you back up and running.

Please see the first post in this thread for pricing information which will apply if you decide to keep service AFTER the BETA.

Fax Service

For this BETA, we are only including Toll-Free fax numbers. Upon full launch, we will offer local numbers in all of our other rate centers in the US and Canada as well.

Local Numbers

For this BETA, we are also only offering US phone numbers for the local number selection. Canada and expanded US cities will be added at full launch.

Yes, anyone can use the service anywhere if you don't mind having a US/Canadian number for it.
