I just reported on live chat (support) that on the service status (cpanel), the "server load" where my sites are on (gator162)go as high as 22. Its been almost half an hour now since I reported it and it is still very high (15 to as high as 25). Live support told me that the normal server load here at hostgator is 10. Is that correct?
I did some research and I learned that that the server load per CPU should not exceed 1. Since I'm on a server with 2 CPUs, the server load should not be more that 2 (if what I read is correct). How high does hostgator's server load go before the server freezes or bogs down? I have seen on many occasions that it goes way beyond 10. And what should we do if we see the server load going so high? |
