I've seen in the forum someone suggest that a shared server will handle 300 users logged in at the same time, but I'd probably take the question to HG via live chat or via a phone call to the sales folks.

I run a phpBB 3.0 forum which sees 30 to 40 people steady all day long with a 500MB DB.

You get 25 concurrent MySQL connections, which on a well-optimized site should be able to handle at least 3-400 + people.
