Default vBulletin Question

What's the CPU limit, etc...? Will this work alright?

With about 10-30 users online at once, about 50 posts each day.

It should work fine. The CPU limit is no more than 25% of the CPU over a 90 second period, I believe. There is a 25 connection limit for the database but connections are generally very brief and can handle many more users on at once.

It works just as well as a normal board would - considering if I have my dedicated configured correctly, you should be able to get ~300+ posts a day without issue with about 50-75 users online at any 15 minute interval time.

As long as you don't have a lot of CPU hogging plugins, you're fine.

I run a forum hosting business here at HG on a swamp plan and even though there are over 15,000 forums the load is still below 15%.
If your curios why, it's because all new sign-ups for shared hosting are hosted on 8 cores total xeons at 2.4 each.
So high loads are harder to reach.
At least for me it seems to work well.

Am I missing something in what you just said?
You're reselling your Swamp Plan space?

Correct.
However now that you mention it, i am toying with the thought of selling my REVOLUTIONS inc. business, lock stock and barrel.
The VFX studio is becoming to much to handle while also trying to run a web and forum hosting business.

Anyone Interested?

The new machines are beasts indeed and are hard to stop just like a train. However, running a "forum hosting business" sounds like you have clients of yours. Per the ToS you can not resell forum hosting to customers of yours on a Swamp or any *shared* plan. To do this within the ToS would require a reseller at the least or some form of dedicated.

Hello,
no not clients but members.
Yes it is a multi-forum script but there is no money involved.
Members sign up for a forum, try it and then move to a hosting package i offer. I also am stating dedicated forums, forums in a shared hosting package on my dedi. The swamp package comes with unlimited bandwidth and a terabyte of disc space. What single website would ever use that much space?
And it says "host unlimited websites", this is the same thing but not really because they are not websites, they are temporary forums.

I reread the tos and i am within the code. as i am not selling the space or accepting any type of compensation.

I think where everyone has gotten confused is "forum hosting business" and "Swamp Plan"

The word business implies compensation and the Swamp plan of course is "shared" hosting.

I run a vB forum on a shared server which sees about 40 to 60 users online at one time and a couple hundred posts per day with no issues.
