I am starting a webdesign company which will also offer webhosting to clients if they choose to use my service. But I have several questions about WHMCS to see if I can use it.
1. Some clients will not be using my hosting service so I was planning on still using WHMCS so they can be billed etc... kind of like a shopping cart. But I dont want these customers have WHMCS automatically setup a web space for them since they wont use it. I believe this is possible since I saw an option not to create an account or something like that automatically but to do so manually. However for people are doing webhosting I want an account to be created automatically. Is their a way I can set this up for different types of products? 2. I want this to be as simple and as pain free as possible and one thing that will happen is a client will sign up for a web design package that includes webhosting, domain registration etc... However the domain name will probably be created by me therefore I dont want them to have to input a domain name when first signing up for this product which I know WHMCS does when you select some kind of web hosting product. However I do want to use the features such as domain name registering reminder that WHMCS offers so I can automatically remind me and my client when a domain name is going to expire. 3. I will also be offering services such a web maintance that will be on a per hour basis. How can I add an option that a user can input how many hours they choose and the add on will be Hours * per hour amount and that will be added to their total. It seems like their is no way for any kind of variable payment. 4. I thinking I am going the wrong way about this entire process so does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of software that webdesign companys use to bill their clients. I know I am using WHMCS for things it wasnt meant for so just wondering what do web design companies use for a control panel kind of thing. |

Not much time and still getting use to WHMCS, but....
1- Yes. You can set products or just make accounts via the main WHM if needed 2- You can intergrate WHMCS with an Enom account to register domains, but there is also the option when registering to just "update nameservers on existing domain". 3- Shouldnt be a problem. WHMCS is very customizable! You can use coupons or make hidden items etc etc. 4- Look into the options and configurations with WHMCS. I'm a webdesigner and hoster (my sites still under construction tho) but I think it's the best available..... and I did try a few others. Hope it helps
