Default Using shared ssl for autopilot

I have been trying to get host gator to help me out her, but for some reason they are not responding well on this matter. I have installed whmap on my reseller account. it works good, however I want to use it thru https: this is where the problem starts. the shared ssl path of the golf server i am on is https://secure94.websitewelcome.com/~username/ so this means the I should be able to access whmap at this address. https://secure94.websitewelcome.com/...g/step_one.php just like i can at www.pulpwebsolutions.com/billing/step_one.php . However when using the https: address I get errors.

Please visit this link to see the error. https://secure94.websitewelcome.com/...g/step_one.php

I really need help resolving this.

The shared certificate was not issued by a trusted site, so you will always get this error. It would be far better if you just purchased a certificate, they are not expensive.

Support will not help you on this issue because they know the truth, no matter how many requests they answer, you will NEVER get this to work the way you want it to work.

A private certificate is really your only choice for e-commerice. The shared certificate is only useful for encrypted communications where your clients are not involved. (Like going to cPanel and WHM).

I am not sure you are 100% correct on this. Hostgator has now fixed my issue. Thanks for you input on this matter.

Well... yes, they could install a trusted certificate. That would solve part of the problem and if you aren't picky and your customers are really smart and very trusting, then yes, it can be solved to your satisfaction. It however, could not be fixed to mine.

I can still view that there is a problem with the certificate, Just put your own SSL. You will not be able to get this to work properly until you put your own SSL. for 75$ per year, it is quite good to have security and customer trusting you.

If I was a client, I would be scared of the address not being the same as the site I came on the first time to buy from.

I saw it doing it the first time and when I came back it did not do it again(warning sign)
