Hi,
I have done a search, but couldn't find a step by step guide on installing Wordpress. I know Fantastico is meant to make this easy, but I don't know how to get started. Any help gratefully received. C |

you can install wordpress manually or via fantastico.
if you go through fantastico, you log into your control panel, hit the happyface fantastico option, and go through the install wizard there. There's not anything to look up. You'll need to pick a username and password. To install wordpress manually, you go to wordpress, download the current version and and follow the instructions included. Here's a guide. For some software, I don't recommend fantastico installs as you can have more issues. But for wordpress, I've never had any problems installing or upgrading via fantastico. So if you're nervous about the install and want easy upgrading, I'd suggest using Fantastico. Either way, however, it's not too hard. If you have problems with specific steps, post back and folks will help you.

Although I always recommend staying away from Fantastico, I especially recommend it for Wordpress. Wordpress is very easy to install yourself, and you'll get a much better understanding of how Wordpress works (and how to install plugins, and what the directory structure is like which is useful for making changes) if you do it manually.
