I have a problem.

I want to have a section on the site where my visitors can upload a file to my site without them having to email it to me.

how do I go about this and is it very hard?

Thanks.

I've seen PHP scripts out there that do this. Keep in mind it is very risky to run something like that.

I found that one, tell me if that works for you.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is it risky?

Once I have it set up, I am going to have the 'upload' button on a protected page so only certain people can upload files they want me to host.

btw thanks for replying

If someone gets their hand on the script, gets the password for it, then can upload whatever they want. I'm just saying, make sure the script you use is secure. I didn't check that script out as these are hard to find, but just make sure their's passwords and what not.

Why not just set up an ftp account for them to upload with?

I did consider creating a ftp accout for uploads, but then I decided to try this for a while. everyone can enter a password and click on a button, not everybody has an ftp proggy installed.

If I have any probs this way, then I will go the ftp route.

You can find the latest and greatest here

Just go into the mods section and look for v1.20 Revision 6. You can also check out their support forum here if you have any questions.
