uploading help please

Guys which folder do I upload a php site..the public index or the html index,or do i create a new folder for that particular site,
i absolutely have no idea

php site or html or whatever, they all go to directory "public_html", that is the root directory of your web site.

You would upload to the public_html for your primary domain name as quietFinn stated.
For Add-on Domains or Sub Domains you would upload to the sub directory that is tied to the domain within the Public_html. If you are trying to upload an Index.php be sure to remove any Index.html from the directory. Index.html takes priority so it must be removed in order to load the Index.php.

Keep in mind that the webserver looks in any path for a index.*. So if you have a url of http://domain.com/stuff/ Then if there is a index.* in stuff, you will see it.

Ok guys thanks,i still cannot make heads or tails of the whole thing ..so I have to upload all and any websites into the public_html ..even if they are php etc..?

with my domains at go dady i just point them to hostgator dns and this will pick up my php/htl index sites am i right or do i need to add on.park domain in c/panel..and where do i point it.

Problem solved with a little tinkering around ..with mistakes and all.
