Default Upgrading Question

I currently have the Hatchling Plan. I want to upgrade to the Baby Plan.....does the current 20% discount pricing apply when upgrading?

Thanks.

Good Afternoon,

Unfortunately the 20% off coupon is only available when initially signing up for the hosting account. Upgrades would be billed for the duration of your current billing cycle at a pro-rated rate.

Please let us know if you should have any further questions concerning the upgrade.

Best Regards,

Thanks for your quick response!!

Honest question: Could I not open a new account with the discounted Baby package (20% off) then when my current Hatchling package comes up for renewal, close it and transfer the original domain to my new Baby package account as one of the add on domains? It would save me $23.88 for a one year pre-paid package. Or is the discount only for new clients to HostGator only?

As you can tell, I am looking to save every dime.

Nope. This isn't possible.

That looks very much possible to me. I have two accounts with Hostgator, so nothing wrong with opening a second account. Obviously you can close one of them when you want. So I dont find anything wrong with your plan. Not sure if Hostgator officially allow the same. May be you shouldn't have asked Also you can save up to 25% on new signups.
