Default Upgrading (And other questions)

Hello,

I'm going to go ahead and list my questions in a list format so that it is easier for you all to understand.

1.) I am currently subscribed to a Shared package (Baby). I would also like to get a seperate package (Reseller Silver(?)) and I would like to run both in the same sort of directory. Pretty much I would like to have access in a way such as "home/acctname/reseller" and "home/acctname/shared". I'm not sure if you can do this, but what I would like to do is have it all on one main domain and one account instead of two domains and two accounts. If this is not possible could you please tell me what my other options are? Thank you.

2.) Can resellers sell reseller accounts? So if I do purchase the Silver package, can I have people sell space off of that? Thank you.

3.) I am pretty sure resellers need to supply their own support but could you please clarify this? Thank you.

I just want to say thanks for taking a look at my questions, and for the great service I have recieved.

1) No. Resellers and shared are always on separate machines. However, there is no reason to keep the shared account, other than the larger size at a cheaper price.

2) NO (only dedicated)

3) Yes, verified.

Hi and welcome here,
This is not very clear, how many accounts have you registered?
1&2 -
In a reseller account you can create unlimited accounts.
You can sale this accounts and / or hosting at your price.
This means that you can also sale space, BW, E-mails, whatever, but under your responsabilty against HG.
I do not know if you can sale your "Reseller account" maybe somebody can step in or check the TOS here http://www.hostgator.com/tos.shtml
I suggest you to create a separate resseller account and one or x productions accounts plus 1+ DEV account(s) for tests.

3 -
You have to provide support to your customers if you work as webmaster or service provider like E-mails, blogs, ...
If your customer take care of the site administration, you do not have much to do but you have always to know about. For them you are the "Host or Server".
The server support is provided par HG,

Alright thanks guys. Serra, the reason I would want to accounts is that the shared account would be for a free webhosting site (like freewebs) and the second account would be paid hosting.

2). I believe the answer is yes you can sell reseller hosting. The procedure is a little different than selling hosting packages.

I one word you are plain owner of the accounts.
This make sense, being the owner of the domain name and all the content.
Meaning if you can't sell you, or your buyer, can move anyway, even to HG.
