These changes have nothing to do with the Yahoo issues as these changes were implemented over 6 months ago and the Yahoo problem is far more recent.

How is the rotating IP address system going?
I'm getting blocked by At&T. I resend and it gets blocked too even though it's a different IP address. I see that every time it bounces it's a different IP address, but they are all blocked. It used to be that when I would get blocked like that, I'd just go to the stated web site and get the IP address unblocked, but now If I fill out the form to be unblocked, it does no good, because every time my mail goes out it will use a different IP address. There have been several posts in a few different threads since Friday concerning the problem with ATT (and affiliates such as BellSouth.) For some unknown reason a number of IPs were blocked including IPs used in the mail gateway for shared accounts and even some dedicated servers. Other hosting companies also had IPs blocked.
As for reporting blocked IP addresses it is best to submit a ticket and have the server admins take action as they can investigate to see if there is a legitimate reason that the IP was blocked (such as a spammer on the server.) If a shared account user reports it and the IP is unblocked and the spammer is not caught then if the IP is blocked again then it can take even longer to get it unblocked the second time. HG is working to get the IP addresses that are blocked unblocked and it should clear up soon. My dedicated server IP was blocked starting Friday morning and was finally cleared up this afternoon. |
