I would also like to add another question -
Is there any limit over the size of database [like one of my previous hosts SmarterLinux] had a 100 MB cap on database size... Is there something like this here? THis is a very-very point for me since all my site is a Forums using vB!!! Thanks |

Excuse me... it's been over 12 hours since I posted these questions and this is PRE sales area. Do I expect the same slow response from you people once I pay you?!?!?!
Your live support was nothing more than ****ty... and even at forums I haven't as yet got a response... This has reduced the possibility by 90% that I would go with you

thanks for your response
I should have emailed them to you earlier... That got me a response within 15 minutes.another question before I get an account with you - >> At this point you should have hosting accounts with two hosting >> providers the old and the new one. You will now upload your entire >> site from the old host to the new one. This can be done by connecting >> to their ftp and downloading all your files. Then connecting to the >> new hosts ftp and uploading all your files. If you choose to make us >> your new host we will transfer your entire site over free of charge! << All I need is a trasfer of a 22 MB database and some directories. Would you do it for me free of charge? |

If you use mysql you can still get a dump via a program called PHPmyadmin.
From your cpanel access the mysql option and phpmyadmin is at the bottom of that page. The Export feature is a little strange in that, you seem to have to be at the root instead of inside a database to export. From the root Select <databases> from the window on the right. (do not choose a database from the left menu) Then the export feature will kick in and you can select which database you would like to dump. Welcome to the club and good luck with your new hostgator service. |
