Yes, most definitely. If I had known this was coming, I would have made to sure make backups more frequently.

Also, it surprises me that no backups were made when they attempted to do a server-wide "fix" of the problem on my server. That's when they restored an old version of the database for me which didn't contain the most recent changes.

I'd like a copy of the most recent fix before they blew it up. That one - even with the crashed tables, was at least manageable (repair tables vs all data gone from your users... its a pretty obvious choice).

Any more info on this - I assume this will be somewhere in the WHM interface?

For whatever reason, that capability wasn't included in the Theme when they released it. I believe I saw a reference elsewhere that said it might be available in the next release of it, but I cant be sure. Wish I knew more!

For shared customers, server-wide announcements are made available on an RSS feed. You can subscribe from your main cPanel page.

I can't see an rss feed if I log in to whm or into cpanel for any of my customer accounts - can you give me more info please?

Hi FlyingFox,
The RSS feeds are available for our shared hosting customers, only, at this time, as they are a part of our custom HostGator branded theme. Our development team is currently working on a method to bring a similar solution to our resellers.

And I had just sent out 50 personalized emails from the account one hour prior for people to visit my site. They all emailed me back and said it was Under Maintenence.

Well I wouldn't have emailed them if I knew that was going to happen. So I had to reply to 50 emails on what happened. Waste of time. Put something nice up next time and explain is my suggestion.
Come on. Get a grip people. It's not that big of a deal. As soon as I saw my site I figured it was a server issue and called to make sure. On previous hosts they did not even do any kind of maintainence and my site was hacked several times due to this.

I say keep up the good work

Any indication how long it's going to be down? It's been a good few hours already, which isn't really OK without forewarning

My sites was "under maintenance" for 2 hours. Support was very quick to answer what was going on. No worries I guess!
