Queer - being nervous, I decided to login to CPANEL using https. When I did I decided to change my password.
I then went to publish my website (over 24 hours later) and I have to use the old password. Are there supposed to be two different passwords on the account? |

I guesss a different question is - How do I get rid of the stuff:
Baby Croc Package: Baby Croc Server: Undefined Account: XXXXX Domain: Undefined below my forum ID? Last edited by hcacree; 02-12-2008 at 12:19 AM. |

No,
If your talking about the FTP password for the main account, You need to wait for it to update. EDIT: Your the only one that can see it, See whats under mine? Thats what you have to, And only that.

I bet everybody wonders about that when they're new. Here's a screen shot of what we see about you.

Its been over 24 hours since I changed the password in Cpanel. I would think that would be more than enough time. I'll have to keep digging....something is weird. A few minutes ago I just used new one in Cpanel and published again with old one.
Thats for the info on the extra stuff below my ID! I was really confused by that. I didn't want to publish my ID then realized that I did it in the post (which I have since edited...) What can I say? Just wish my IQ was as big as my belt size.... |

Your cPanel password change should be instant--I've never experienced what Jordanlw refers to with any kind of wait.
Are you sure you changed the cPanel password and not an FTP password? And, are you sure cPanel *accepted* the change? Sometimes in tiny letters it says the new password isn't strong enough and the change didn't go through.

slapshotw,
Yes I'm sure that Cpanel has the new password for my main account ID. I've used it several times. When I publish with expression web I must use my main account ID, but my old password. Maybe that is a different FTP password of some sort? Last edited by hcacree; 02-12-2008 at 12:49 AM. |

No, it should match. Sounds like a cPanel glitch--support should be able to fix it right up. I've never seen a delay in changing those passwords.

Support didn't find problem. But I removed, then installed Front Page server Extensions again for another problem and the passwords sync'ed up.
Don't know what happens when I change PW in cPanel again yet. Removing adding FPSE in cPanel with X3 skin doesn't seem to step on Indexes now. My memory was that recycing FPSE used to remove remove Indexes "off" settings before. |
