For those of you that use webmail, here's a neat little trick I set up for a customer to make it easy on them.
First set up a subdomain mail.yourdomain.com Then change the redirect to www.yourdomain.com:2095 From now on, when you go to mail.yourdomain.com, it will instantly give you a login prompt. enter your user's full email address and password which you've set up in cpanel and then you can choose neomail or horde. I haven't figured out how to make it go directly to horde instead of neomail though. If anyone figures it out let me know. I'm not 100% positive it will work for everyone, but it's worked for me so far. |

I moved this post just so it had more to do with the topic of the forum.
Thanks for the little trick to.

Thanks!
I am so glad I found hostgator. This is what I've been looking for for so long. Nobody else even comes close. |

you did know about www.yourdomain.com/webmail right?
And as far as going straight to one I don't know anything that can either. I suggest asking that at www.cpanel.net seems like there has to be some better shortcut.

Yes I did know about the www.domainname.com/webmail, I just wanted to make it easier on my users to go directly to their mail.
I did figure out how to go directly to horde also. http://www.domainname.com:2082/horde/index.php Now I just redirect the 'mail' subdomain to that. Now my users can check their webmail and log in with a few less clicks and an easy to remember address to get to it. |

I have tried this, but no matter what redirection I input for one of my subdomains, it doesn't redirect! When I go back and look at the redirection, it is blank. I have tried:
http://mydomain.com:2095/horde/index.php http://mydomain.com:2082/horde/index.php After submitting my redirection, I get this message: SubDomain Redirection webmail.mydomain.com is currently being redirected to http://mydomain.com:2095/horde/index.php All I get is the index listing for my webmail.mydomain.com Any Suggestions? |

once you get to your mail the simple way, save the page as your favorite, make sure it says something you can connect in your mind like "neo-mail" in the title of your favorites. From now on you start in favorites / neo-mail you hit that and it prompts for user/pw and your in. This is sorta like doing the maze backwards, takes a lefty to think like this

Thanx for the reply Tiger. I understand doing this for myself, but I am hosting this site for another compnay and the users connect through a variety of browsers and various ISPs. If the redirection for the subdomain would work, it would be much easier. I guess my real question is, Why doesn't my subdomain redirection work?
