I didn't think of that until today. What would you want to transfer domain from one HostGator to another? I am not sure of this, but I think it is not possible. I haven't seen anyone have done that before. Anyway, if you find that it is possible, I would also like to know.

I suppose an example of when you might need this is if I decide to host a domain for a friend who can't afford hosting atm.
If he was able to get hosting later than I would transfer the domain over to his account (if its possible that is).
Or simply buying/selling domains.

Greetings,

I'd like to ask for clarification regarding your specific concern. Are you looking to transfer ownership of the domain to another person or simply move the domain's site content and DNS to a different Hostgator account? I believe you're likely referring to the latter as you mentioned hosting the site for a friend.

Either is possible. Ownership just requires whois information being updated. The second situation, where you'd host a friend's site, then them migrate to their own account later is definitely possible. This just requires migrating your files and databases to the newer account, then updating DNS.

If you have any other questions, comments or concerns please let me know.

Best Regards,
