Default Transfer from Servage

Hi,
I'm very interested in signing up an account with host gator right now, but I need to know some details about transfer.
I'm fleeing away from servage hosting, right now my sites are down and have been like this for an entire day and it's not the first time.
The problem is that I don't know anything about transfer in the main page tells I can do it for free and that you handle the entire process for me, it sounds good but I'd like to know about the details of the process at least what I should do, I'm not very proficient in this things, but I read somewhere in this forum that it's needed that my previous host used cPanel, I don't know what is that so I think servage doesn't use it.
If you need some extra information please let me know, I'd like to move as fast as possible.
Thank you.

To be able to have your account transfered you would, at least, need one of these two solutions :

1- You have access to all your files on your actual server with your ftp account.

2- You have on your own computer a full backup of all the files of your account.

Hi,

yes, HG transfers your site for free.
Check out : https://secure.hostgator.com/transfer.php
As you were earlier on cPanel, so it shouldn't be difficult to get transferred. But, to be sure, email sales at hostgator dot com for confirmation

That's not what the OP said.
In fact, the OP doesn't think his old host used cPanel, so ritoban, if you're going to be offering advice via your affiliate site, it might be a good idea to read posts more carefully.

Woops. My bad.
I had read this and got lost somewhere between the lines...
I just had a look at servage and it seems they have their own control panel. Its their in-house CP and looks decent.
btw, the HG theme in our cPanel rocks...

@ ritoban - Whilst you're at it, please remove your affiliate link from your signature. It's hardly ethical or fair to other HG affiliates to be advertising your affiliate links here in the pre-sales forum.
