Hello,
I suggest you to set up the move with support first, because they are some versioning to verify.
Probably they will move you for free or some bucks.
When ready an having the ok from support, ask them to move and inform sales. Probably you have to confirm the move with sales.
That's my recommandation because in the forum I saw some mess' generated by sales.
About, you move from an old aluminium to a new diamond?
Do you have already phpsuexec, if not prepare the upgrade, (php.ini)
If your are not in "strict" UFT8 ask also about the DB version.
Check also the mail settings old vs new.
I suggest you to stay as possible in the same versions for php and mysql and to do the upgrades later.
One pain at the time is enough.
With the support infos you can also planify your dns move perhaps a night then when propagated check back the old mailboxes. Or, if you have the knowledge close your old mail before moving, nothing will be lost.

Bur overall it is not big deal. Good luck

Go here: https://secure.hostgator.com/upgrade.php

And this shouldn't affect your customers, it should just increase your space.

Unless they keep you on the same server, which may happen even at the new plans.

Both times I upgraded when I was a reseller, there was only an increase in my space and bandwidth with no other changes. This includes the last one which was to the new, larger plan sizes. Wouldn't hurt to ask sales to be sure though.
