Exclamation Transfer Domain Names

Man, I feel like such a dummy - none of this stuff makes any sense to me. I have one domain that I bought here at HG and I can't seem to manage to configure my FTP so that I can upload the home page to the servers.

Secondly, I bought three other domain names from GoDaddy and followed the instructions for changing the nameservers to HG so I can add them to my account here. Now, in searching the tutorials and knowledge base on this site for info about my FTP problem I stumbled on info about transferring domains and there is a note at the bottom of the info that says that a domain can't be transferred until it's been with the registrar for 60 days. What's with that? Nothing seems to be happening with any of those 3 domains except that I can go to the whois site and pull them up - they say registrar locked. I am really just learning this stuff and getting more confused about BOTH issues by the minute. In my opinion the tutorials here are too simplistic and seem to be written for people who have a tech background. I've gotten some good info by posting questions here . . . can anybody point me in the right direction?? I'm about ready to give up - I have to be missing something and right now I can't imagine I will ever figure this stuff out and actually have a site that's up and running.
Thanks

Default Re: Transfer Domain Names

ICANN rules say:
"The Registrar of Record may deny a transfer request only in the following specific instances:
...
- A domain name is in the first 60 days of an initial registration period.
- A domain name is within 60 days (or a lesser period to be determined) after being transferred (apart from being transferred back to the original Registrar in cases where both Registrars so agree and/or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs)."

Now, if you registered your domains with GoDaddy, you don't have to transfer them to HostGator. You just have to point your nameservers to the correct IP's here at HG.

Stef.

What FTP program are you using?

You should connect to ftp.your_website_here.com.

Username: Use the email address you created via FTP manager.
Pass: Use the password you created when you created the FTP account.
