My site is running on Joomla and when posting a story, thumbnails for the images don't get created. This is effectively stopping me from posting the majority of news that I need to post.
Contacted support over 10hours ago, they've been unable to solve the problem. GD is installed, chmodded the folder where the thumbnails get created in to 777, nothing. Simply doesn't work. Even gave tech support access to the sites backend, after which I have recieved no reply to the ticket. Anyone have any suggestions ? If a Hostgator worker is reading this, the ticket nr is KGP-243009. |

Hi,
Check that your image that your are trying to upload are not too big on width and height. Also check that it doesn't go over the limit of maybe 100 kb that is set by default in the Component config in Admin panel. I had same problem with a client and he was trying to upload image too big for the config that he had set. We change the setting to 200 X 200 and 100000 octets(yet another word in french that I don't remember in english here but you will catch that it is the weight of the pictures.) My customer was having this problem with a forum call Loudmouth in Mambo. I had to go in the Administrator panel and change the config by going in Administrator > Components > Loudmouth > Board Configuration > Option Tab > User details > Images sizes...(mine is in french so I have translated so It could differ a bit lol) Try that and let me know if this was the issue.

I have the sizes and everything set up properly.
I have several hundred news items posted with this way and HG support has given up on the problem. I'm shocked. What am I supposed to do now... |

Support was unable to solve problem. However I'm glad, because I managed to find a better and more interesting way to display images. So thank you for not solving the problem (how often do you hear that?
