Thinking of purchasing an account, but a couple questions first

Hi,

1. If I start an account with a pay-monthly plan, just to try it out, can I then switch to the 3 year plan and make use of the 20% off initial order deal? Because I'd like to make use of that 20% with a 3 year subscription, but I'd also like to try it out for a month or two before I commit.


2. Are there means in place which will let my webmaster have access to the tools they need to work with the site, without giving them the means to modify login/password information or otherwise hijack the account (such as a separate login)?

You would need to email support at hostgator dot com for a definitive answer, but previous posts here have said that the discount is only on the initial purchase. There is a 45 day guarantee so the best option is to purchase the three years if that is what you are prepared to do and if it doesn't work out you will receive a refund.

Depends on what tools. You can only have one cPanel login that has full access to the account. If the webmaster only needs FTP access you can create an FTP account with a different password.

Correct, you would need to use the coupon when signing up as we do not allow apply the coupon retroactively.
