Thinking of Joining

Hello,

I'm thinking of Joining HG resellers and have a couple questions.

1) Are your Reseller plans on the same servers as shared plans or do you group Reseller plans on their own servers?

2) How many reseller plans do you have on a server?

3) I'd like to see the performance of Joomla on your servers. Does anyone happen to have any installed that I could see how they perform?

4) I notice your reseller programs are kind of low on disk space and bandwidth. Any plans of upgrading them soon? To me it just seems odd that a baby plan has 5GB & 75GB b/w for 9.95 and an aluminum plan has the same disk space and less b/w for 24.95

The reseller plans come with some extras like WHM Autopilot, which of course, raises the price a bit.

1) Reseller and shared accounts are on seperate boxes, with the same server specs though. (Dual Xeons, 4 gigs ram, etc)

2) This usually depends on the server, it will be over 100+ not counting all of the accounts resellers can create.

3) Someone here would have to give you the link for that but we have no problems in general with Joomla

I have had Mambo and then later Joomla sites here for about a year and never had any problems.

WOW, that sounds like a lot to me. If you have 100+ resellers on a server and they only have 10sites each that's 1000 sites on a server and that seems like a lot.

An average server should run just fine with 1400 accounts on it. I was on a shared HG server with 1500 accounts and never had a speed problem. Keep in mind that the reseller servers are REALLY nice servers with a lot of ram.

However, if you want true speed and power, then move to a semi-dedicated or dedicated account, then you'll see real speed. Shared servers are for people who want inexpensive hosting, not those looking for speed and power.

Which is actually nice. I don't host any porn myself, but I like the idea that my account isn't going to be closed if one of my customers posts a nude photo of his wife.
