Default Thinking about joining

Hello all,

I've been looking at hostgator for a while and you've always been in my list op top5 possible hosts to get my reseller package from.
I posted and looked around WHT Forums and even someone from your company replied so this shows you take interest into you costumers, future costumers.
I've been into shared hosting for a couple of years and I now wish to expand that with a reseller account to host mostly my own sites, possible clients (I do some designs and friends and family)

But before I join I'dl like some additional information and get a final idea if my guts are pointing me into the right direction

A little list of questions... (if the answers are available in the FAQ/KB.. I'm sorry I missed it)

1. I see you provide different languages for the Cpanel. So I guess you are using RVSKIN am I right ? (I'll be needing this because I'm from Europe so I would like to offer Cpanel in another language... dutch as a matter of fact)

2. I often need to develop different stuff in different languages. (mostly for my studies... IT)... right now I'm into a project that would need ASP.NET. (not a big fan but hey... it's not that I can choose) does that Chillisoft module allow me to use ASP.NET ? or is it mainly for ASP 3.0 ?

3. Do you provide JAVA with Tomcat if needed ?

4. If I need to get more space or Bandwidth, do I need to upgrade to a higher plan ? or can I buy additional space or bandwidth for a fee ?

5. this is more feedback from possible european costumers I guess: How are your download speeds on your sites from here in europe ?

6. Fantastica still says it includes Invision (which I'd like to try out after all these years of phpbb) but I've read somewhere it's not available anymore... am I right ?

7. Is it possible to costumize Cpanel for my users? I want to provide mailhosting to quite some friends and family with their own domain and mail functions... but this would mean they won't be needed of the "full Cpanel" stuff... so is that possible ?

8. the billingsystem is free of charge ? no hidden or yearly fees to pay still ?

9. last but not least... I've not seen anything about this in the FAQ, if I decide to register a new domain during registration, how much do you charge for the registration?

I think that covers about all my questions I guess....

thanks

Psykik

Hello, I am currently a VERY HAPPY reseller customer and I can answer some of your questions.

Yes. You may pick what the user can see in the options list. Each email account does not have to have a cpanel if you make the email account in YOUR account. They will login to check their email at www.yoursite.com/webmail if you make the account in your cpanel.

If you are talking about WHM AutoPilot the answer is yes. However, if you want Hostgator to install it for you there is a $25 fee.

I think domains cost $15.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the answers...

though I think question 7 was misunderstood. I'll explain:

I want to provide mailhosting . so give users about 50 MB + a few accounts and a domain name. Is it possible to limit the cpanel features for the client to only show the email functions (so no fantastico, mysql, scripts, and so on)

this will only freak them out to see all the options. thus I would love to limit these ....

any feedback from staff as well ???

Chilisoft is more like a stripped down version of Microsoft ASP: some things are not available in Chilisoft. Please be sure to check www.chilisoft.com and maybe some comparison reviews on the internet if you're really relying on this.

From our info page: "We support JSP, and are running Tomcat version 4.x Each account gets one dedicated servlet. If you require jsp email us immediately after signing up." Please contact sales@hostgator.com if you need more info.

Normally you would have to upgrade to a higher plan.

Download speeds are considered good to excellent by most customers all over the globe.

Invision is not included anymore in Fantastico. See also this thread.

In combination with RVSkin you have a lot of customization options. You can exclude sections from the panel.

There are no hidden fees for WHM Autopilot: as a reseller you get this for free!
