Question THINKING OF GETTING A BABY PLAN need ure help plz

i used to be with bluehost but they shut me down cause i had adult smilies on it and adult forums etc and obviously i had adult vids and pics lol and they changed ther policy from sell to provide and sell which i dont mind about vids and pics but to delete my smilies thats just bobbins and fks me off

so been looking around, found hostgator went on ther chat,

but like with bluehost i shoulda googled ther hosting and totally did my home work on them

so gona ask ya to do it for me

my site will be a or was a hardcore adult/music site wer i put up adult vids and members upload ther own and pics and animation etc, we make music from virtual dj and other such programs and upload it and upload free music from the likes of dream dance

when it comes to members we mainly just inbox we hardly chat in chat room or make many forums we basicaly just c who can make the best music and the best home made vids

i got 15 days before me bluehost shuts down completly. so downloading all the things that need to be put on me new host around 50 gig worth of downloads

i mentioned all of this in chat and couple of other questions and they seem fine with wat i want but most chats i been to say yeh and then the forums are diffrent and its always good to get opinions from as many ppl as i can

now me site only has between 80 and 150 users a day some times as low as 50 , but its a nice lil place to chill with me m8s and cause me site is a mobile script it dont av lots of crap gobbling up the proccessor speed thingy

but after reading through ya forums speed seems to be a major isshue i am in uk and bluehost the speed is just like any other site normal, so is this forum on hostgator seems good to me i never heard of the speed thing i thought all that was through ya computer or ya internet provider?

and 1 last question can u all plz post ure sites here so i can ava gander at ure community and adult sites so i can gather info on speed etc cause hostgator host several adult sites but cant find them lol and most sites i seem to find are websites with pictures on them

Have you read the HG Terms of Service?

Your problem likely isn't going to be what the content's about but the server resources that videos, file sharing require.

damn the terms of service is very informative

users may not

(Participate in any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities,

which is a massive blow. i knew i couldnt stream but know1 alowed to upload or download thats just crazy lol

(You are allocated a monthly bandwidth allowance.

damn and i thought it was unlimited...

(Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds

what is the percentage?

and am guessing thats the same for dedicated and vps,

For shared hosting it is unlimited.

No, dedicated is your own box and you can paralyze it however you wish. For vps, contact sales (at) hostgator.com to get exact details.

As far as I'm concerned, HG means they do not allow File-Sharing sites like Rapidshare, hotfile, Megadownload..... and every forum does have some 'file sharing" @ some point. As for the peer to peer, I guess they mean P2P applications or stuff like that! again every forum does have peer to peer activities.

If I were you I would send an email stating all these (And maybe more) to sales at hostgator dot com & ask them to get an supervisor to look at your email & reply. this way you will have "official" agreement & explanation of the TOS from HG.

An upload/download site--which is what the OP seems to be saying--could be considered file-sharing. What's more to the point, uploading and downloading can really chomp server resources, which is what gets shared accounts suspended.

So it's important to remember that even if what you want to do is theoretically fine for a shared account, you can still run up against the process and other resource limits.

Pazeh's suggestion is really the best course, especially if you give them some idea of the volume of everything, then ask, "what plan would work best".
