That iPanel and mod_layout are not allowed on your servers. I just wasted money on an iPanel license because apparetnly hostgator doesn't allow that software. Can I get a basic explanation as to why? Security, load, etc..

1) mod_layout requries admin access to install it, you do not have it. If you were told you could install it by a salesman you were mislead.
2) Assuming you are talking about this iPanel (http://www.ihostdev.com/ipanel.html) as far as i can see you can use it if mod_layout is installed and you have a reseller account.

You wasted your money because you didn't check in advance that the server meets the requirements.
