Default Thing email

Has there been any problems with Thing in the past few days? Since Thursday last week I've been getting messages from some people trying to send me email that it is getting bounced back to them with an MX error "Failed MX lookup; try again later". In addition, some email has been delayed reaching me. For example, someone sent me an email on Saturday that did not get delivered until this morning.

Has anyone else had problems on Thing?

I assumed it was the name of a server here; maybe I'm wrong?

On my latest server, the name is 'server.domain_name...'

Well setting up a new server at 4am have proven that my brain was not fully working to find a machine name.

So the day after, I have done a list of server name I should use when I configuring new ones.

By the way, I got a good question also:

You know hostgator use *.websitewelcome.com for all their servers, how can I do the same thing? Do I need to create something special in my domain name account for the name of new servers?

I can create at least 30 names servers so I could at least setup a few servers with a single domain.

Best Regards,

It looks like all Hostgator servers are named after makes.models of cars. "Thing" is a very funky Volkswagon Jeep type vehicle.

OK I am enlightened now somewhat.
