I wish there was one! Coupons are merketting tricks to get new customers, normally not offered to existing customers. However I am not the person to confirm this, somebody from HG please....

Yes, it's those coupons you have in your wallet ... or maybe you are out of coupons...

14.) Coupons
Discounts and coupon codes are reserved for first-time accounts *or first-time customers* only and may not be used towards the purchase of a domain registration unless otherwise specified. If you have signed up using a particular domain, you may not resign up for that domain using another coupon at a later date. Any account found in violation of these policies will be reviewed by our sales department and the appropriate invoices will be added to the account. Coupon abuse will not be tolerated and may result in the suspension or termination of the account. |

HG needs a proofreader. "Resign" means to quit. It should read, "...you may not sign up again for that domain using another coupon...."

Thanks for pointing out the error.
The Terms of Service is a document that has evolved from its first draft several years ago to what it is today. We update it regularly, but we don't usually update parts not related to what we're actually intending to change in that round of updates. With that in mind, though, I'll go over the TOS for spelling/wording errors and tune it up a bit over the next week or two.

It was one of those sentences that kept stopping me in the middle, because "resign" is generally not followed by "up for."...[Y]ou may not resign up for..." Huh?

There are other coupons out there besides the one on the frontpage. The 20% off code is best for those signing up for a long period, but if people can only pay monthly there are coupons for $10 off out there that are better options as well as the odd $25 off coupon if your lucky enough to find it. You can try searching for Hostgator coupons in google and you will see a lot of sites with different coupons that work.

No coupons can not be used for renewals.

The only coupon we have for dedis is 20% off the first month. It should automatically apply it when you order online.

Can you use a coupon to renew if you are an existing customer?

This is a strange question.
How could you renew something if you are not an existing customer?

And the answer, of course, is no. Discounts are offered as a way to lure in new customers. They don't apply to renewals.
