Question Is there any security level difference between dedicated server vs shared server

Hello,
Greetings !

Is there any security level difference between dedicated server vs shared and reseller server. I need to host a online bank level data. Currently I'm using aluminum package of host gator for general purposes. Can I use this same for online bank hosting?

Thanks.

On a security level, there should be no difference since they will need to go through the same firewall. There will be a difference in effeciency though.

Banking and investment sites are against the Terms of Service, so I would consider whether or not your plans would be in compliance with that policy.

It depends on what type of bank and investment sites.

The ones listed as not allowed in the TOS are for Prime Bank Programs, FOREX, E-Gold Exchange, Second Life/Linden Exchange, Ponzi, MLM/Pyramid Scheme.

You may need to provide proof you are a legitimate bank. You can always check with security to make sure.

As for online bank level security you can run a PCI compliance scan and let us know of anything we need to change to make it compliant.
