Positive Thanks for EVERYTHING :D

First off, when it comes to the hosting and basic support, I give a big thumbs up! . Everytime I've had trouble in the past, everyone on the support team (chat, phone) are very knowledgeable. However, I have one problem that nobody, not support, not the "server admin??", not me or even the script creator of knows what the problem is and i have no other choice to do. I am disappointed in this now

Lets explain the problem.
I have a chat script called phpfreechat. It doesnt use very many resources, and anyway I run a small site with MAX 6 chatters if any (counting me). The problem is, when I'm in Internet Explorer, the chat script will become "unresponsive" and will not refresh like it's suppose to after about 1 minute of idle in chat. However, when I'm in Chrome and FireFox, the script for GREAT! It's an IE problem only.

The chat script uses Ajax to smoothly refresh, like I said, after about 1 min idle, IE will stop "refreshing" the chat, even though chat is still open.

I have tested this on 3 computers, 2 at my house on my network, 1 at a friends house, plus, some of my forum moderators have tested it and one of them has had the issue.

When IE stops refreshing, there is not really any way of you knowing unless you have a sperate browser open, eg. Chrome. Once IE stops "responding", it appears to be working good, but when your in another browser like Chrome or FireFox, you can see that the IE browser has timedout (as chat says so) and you can say something and it will appear in Chrome/FF but what you said will not appear in IE.

The only way to get IE to respond again is to refresh the whole page (i press F5) and it will refresh like normal for a few minutes then the whole problem starts over again.

This is not a slow internet connection problem, as it's been tested on hi speed and dialup, and I get the same results. It is also not a scripting problem, as I am using the EXACT same files and version of chat that i used on another host, and when it was on that host it worked great!

I don't know how to explain this any more than that, but like I said I gave that general info in chat and they couldnt figure it out, so they forwarded it to a ticket and they couldnt figure it out either

The support people said "They cannot reproduce the problem", even though I can, plus my moderators.

Since this works on another host, I will be using "trial and error" with this and other hosts, if nobody here can figure out what is up here and I go on long enough, I might just go and look for a new host that will work i guess (even though i do really like this one). If anyone can help with this please say so as I dont want to switch.

We're glad to hear you're enjoying the service thus far. Could you provide me the ticket ID from the ticket that you submitted to us? I'd like to look into your issue further.

The ticket is HHS-13282243

I thought you guys gave up on me, but I recently got a reply from Carl, a Linux Server Admin who is helping me with it at this time, so we'll see how it goes. I hope we can fix this.

Thanks for everything.

I'm sad to say that this issue is still being looked into. I've been going for a long time to try to figure it out myself and decided to make a new ticket.

The current ticket is JGV-14365621. I've gathered more information on this but still haven't figured it out. One admin made the suggestion that the script might not work with suPHP. As far as I know the new version of this script IS compatible with suPHP. I have this script installed on another host with suPHP and it works right. I can post the link if anybody wants to test it.

This chat script is also included with QuickInstall so I assume it should work?
