Having been with hostgator for approx 1 year now - and have just resigned for next year.
I'm hosting approx 50 websites for clients here at hostgator, using a reseller account. Primarily I'm using Joomla and WordPress based sites. Joomla works 100,00%. WordPress works 100,00%. Every time I see "out there" that something needs to be done to make a webhost do something, that those 2 systems need (special .htaccess entries, other workarounds etc.) it's never hostgator related. These systems works out-of-box with hostgator :-) The only time I have changed anything, has to do with how cpanel works (not a bug). Using a WordPress 3.0 MultiSite installation that uses subdomains, one needs to go to subdomains in cpanel, enter * as a subdomain and point it to the root of the WordPress installation (public_html). Now you have wildcard DNS setup just the way WordPress want's it :-)......nothing fancy, not a bug, only for wordpress multisite with subdomains, and it was described somewhere on the hostgator support/forum. So....thank you hostgator, you deliver much more than you promised. And the option for chatting with support online 24/7 is really good. I'ts a good thing to know, you can get help 24/7, via chat & ticket system. thanks again ! Last edited by weserver; 06-22-2010 at 03:07 AM. |
