Do you guys (HG) read the chat reviews and get back to us on it?

Alouche,

Actually I just found that chat and had already spoken to the agent and sent you an email to your gmail account. The site has been fixed. If you did not get the email here is the content:

Quote:
First I would like to apologize with the issue you had with the agent who took your call. I have spoken with him about this issue and assure you that this is not something you can expect as a HostGator customer.

I have fixed this url for you:
http://xxxxx/xxx/xxxx

It did turn out to be a permissions error, I ran a loop setting permissions to fix this;
[--private--]

Here was the error:

[Fri Jul 24 16:15:23 2009] [error] [client x.x.x.x.] SoftException in Application.cpp:544: Directory "/home/PRIVATE/public_html/PRIVATE/PRIVATE" is writeable by group

That is why you were getting a 500 error.

Either way, you should not have been spoken too like that in our chat system and again my sincere apologies.

If you need anything further just reply to this ticket and it will come straight to the linux administrator support queue.

Otherwise have a great weekend and thank you for choosing HostGator
I have edited out your website and directory as this is a public forum.

Yes I indeed never questioned that possibility, the true issue wasn't about agreeing on what was the cause but getting down to the root of the problem and letting me talk.

It is alright, I am no longer upset. We all have had bad days I guess.

I appreciate your willingness to let this go and also for bringing this to our attention. At HostGator we strive for customer satisfaction and we do not have "bad days" that result in sub par customer service.

Have a great weekend.
